How we handle corrections, disputes, and removals

The Texas Low Income Housing Program Guide is an independent directory of low income housing program businesses in Texas. We build listings from publicly available business information and calculate scores and review summaries by running all public Google reviews through a single, fixed rubric that applies equally to every listed business. Your listing is free to have here. No payment of any kind can change your score or how you rank. The full rubric is published under ranking method.

Fixing factual details

We correct factual fields (business name, address, phone number, website, opening hours, services offered) when you provide the correct value and something we can verify it against, such as your website or your Google Business Profile. Once a correction is applied, it stays through future data refreshes and won't be overwritten when we pull fresh information.

Disputing your score

Scores are never hand-edited here. A dispute means you believe the input data is wrong: the profile is matched to the wrong business, reviews are attributed to you that aren't yours, or a review summary misstates what your actual reviewers wrote. We re-check the sources and regenerate your listing. A dispute is not a request for a higher number; it's a claim about the accuracy of the data we're using.

Requesting a removal

We remove listings for three reasons: your business is permanently closed, your listing is a duplicate of another entry, or you fall outside this directory's scope. Our monthly re-verification cycle catches and removes closed businesses on its own. If your listing is accurate and falls within scope, we may decline removal and will tell you plainly why.

Our response timeline

Every request gets an acknowledgment within 5 business days. Removals that are confirmed are actioned within 7 days. Requests we can't grant come with an explanation of the reason.
