What this directory is

Texas Low Income Housing Program Guide lists 143 low income housing program businesses across the state, from LIHTC properties to Section 8 administrators and subsidized housing counselors serving Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth. It’s built for renters and families trying to figure out which programs actually have openings, which offices answer their calls, and which providers are worth the drive across town before they’ve spent a week on hold with a dozen leasing offices.

We are an independent directory and comparison resource. We also generate enquiries for local providers: when you ask to be matched, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request, and we may receive a referral fee for that connection. Referral arrangements never affect scores or earned rankings. That disclosure is repeated on the quote page itself, so nothing about it is buried.

Where the listing data comes from

Every entry starts with public business data: addresses, phone numbers, program types, hours, and similar facts. We pair that with a synthesis of recent Google reviews to describe reputation and service patterns in plain language. We do not republish review text. If you want to read what people wrote, we link out to the business’s Google listing so you can see the original source yourself.

How rankings are earned

Rankings come from a published rubric applied to the data we collect, not from payments or relationships. The full breakdown of what’s scored and how it’s weighted lives on our methodology page, and it applies the same way to every listing, large or small.

A business that finds an error in its own profile, a wrong phone number, an outdated address, a closed program, can ask us to correct it. What it cannot do is edit its own score, its sentiment summary, or its position in the rankings. Those stay tied to the rubric and the underlying data, not to who asks.

Sponsorship, when it exists

Some pages carry a sponsored placement. It’s always labeled “Sponsored,” displayed separately from the earned ranking, and it never changes where a business lands in the actual rankings. Sponsorship pays for visibility, not position.

Who runs this

This directory is published by IncomeBasedApartments.com, live since 2026. The publisher is a team of TREC-licensed Texas real estate professionals with more than 20 years of combined experience helping renters work through LIHTC, Section 8, and other subsidized housing programs across the state’s major metros. The listings exist because searching for income-restricted housing shouldn’t mean cold-calling dozens of properties one by one. Agents who work with renters daily verify listings monthly, so what you see reflects real availability and program participation rather than who paid for placement.
